About FLUID

A unified liquidity layer that combines lending, borrowing, and a DEX into one capital-efficient protocol.

Built by the Instadapp team, Fluid centers on a single Liquidity Layer that Fluid Lending, Fluid DEX, and Fluid Vaults all draw from. Its Smart Collateral and Smart Debt primitives let a user's deposit simultaneously act as collateral and DEX liquidity, and let their debt earn swap fees, materially reducing effective borrow cost. That architecture supports the highest LTVs of any mainstream lender (up to 95% on ETH) and among the lowest liquidation penalties in DeFi.

  • TVL around $930M–$1B in April 2026 per DeFiLlama (total market size including rehypothecation is higher); year-over-year growth of roughly 4x.
  • Live on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Polygon, and Tron, and powers Jupiter Lend on Solana and Venus Flux on BNB Chain under revenue-share deals.
  • Supports LTVs up to ~95% on ETH-correlated collateral and liquidation penalties as low as 0.1%, well below the 5% typical on Aave and Compound.
  • DEX v2 (planned for Q2 2026) introduces auto-rebalancing ranges to cut impermanent loss; Vaults offer pre-configured leveraged strategies like wstETH/USDC and USDC-USDT delta-neutral.
  • Audited by Cantina, StateMind, and MixBytes, with public bug bounty on Immunefi.

Frequently asked questions

What are Smart Collateral and Smart Debt?

Smart Collateral lets your deposit act as both lending collateral and DEX liquidity, so it earns lending APY plus swap fees at the same time. Smart Debt is the inverse: your borrowed position sits as DEX liquidity too, so trading fees offset the interest you pay. In practice this can push effective borrow rates near zero, sometimes negative, on active pairs.

How is Fluid different from Aave or Morpho?

Aave uses a shared pool and Morpho uses immutable isolated markets, but neither integrates a DEX. Fluid consolidates lending, borrowing, and trading into one liquidity layer so the same capital is doing multiple jobs. That produces higher capital efficiency and higher LTVs, but the collateral and debt now carry correlated DEX risk (impermanent loss, MEV) that pure lenders do not have.

What is the relationship between Fluid, Jupiter Lend, and Venus Flux?

Both are Fluid deployments on non-Ethereum ecosystems launched via partnership. Jupiter Lend is built on Fluid infrastructure on Solana, with revenue shared between Jupiter and Fluid DAOs. Venus Flux is a joint venture with Venus Protocol on BNB Chain that ports Fluid's Smart Collateral and Smart Debt design into the Venus ecosystem.
